Endodontist
Dr. Barr has been serving patients and rescuing teeth through specialty endodontic care for well over 30 years. He prides himself on embodying determination and always doing the right thing when it comes to his patients and the care they need.
Originally from Toledo, Dr. Barr completed his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the University of Toledo and then his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. He served in the US Navy Dental Corps from 1989 to 1992, acquiring the rank of Lieutenant Commander, and completed his Certificate in Endodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry in 1994.
Dr. Barr holds Mastership status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, involving the completion of eighty or more implant cases and at least 150 hours of continuing education in dental implants. He is also an Associate Instructor in the General Practice Residency Program at Augusta Dental University.
Being able to alleviate human pain and infection in a comfortable manner is very fulfilling for Dr. Barr. He is currently providing treatment with the state-of-the-art Sonendo GentleWave System — one of only three in the greater Atlanta area.
Outside of work, Dr. Barr enjoys the outdoors, marksmanship, boating, and traveling. His son works as a commercial pilot and FAA flight instructor.
Endodontist
Dr. Avni Maru grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky. She completed a rigorous combined 6-year undergrad and dental program at Case Western Reserve University where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine.
After graduation, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Following her AEGD, she worked in private practice before starting her two-year endodontic specialty training. Dr. Maru obtained her Certificate in Endodontics and Master's Degree in Dentistry with a Minor in Oral Pathology from Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Maru has completed training in complex endodontic procedures using modern equipment and techniques such as surgical operating microscope, microsurgical instruments, and digital 3D CBCT imaging. She strives to provide the best dentistry delivered painlessly.
In her free time, Dr. Maru enjoys spending time with her husband and kids and traveling to different parts of the world. Her hobbies include painting, reading, and practicing yoga.

Dr. Mark Barr and Dr. Avni Maru are part of a very small group of dentists who are able to provide both specialized endodontic care (root canals) and complete dental implant services to help our patients save damaged and decayed teeth and permanently replace those that have been lost.
With over 30 years of combined experience, they completed years of additional training after graduating from dental school in order to provide an array of specialized services designed to relieve the most persistent dental pain.
